Tradition and Gastronomy in Pieve di Soligo
The 69th edition of the “Spiedo Gigante” once again brings life to Piazza Caduti nei Lager in Pieve di Soligo, offering three weekends dedicated entirely to the gastronomy, tradition, and culture of the Alta Marca Trevigiana. During the event, visitors can sample the queen of local specialties—the quail skewer—along with various themed evenings featuring sumptuous menus based on wild boar, young chicken, and pork knuckles. The culinary offerings are complemented by an evening entertainment program with a diverse musical lineup ranging from pop to rock to R&B.
The event program is further enriched by eagerly anticipated side events in which the entire community and visitors can participate. Of particular note are the 42nd edition of the historic tug-of-war competition between the Trevisan and Contà districts, as well as the skewer competition, in which the region’s best chefs compete against one another in preparing this iconic dish. The festivities culminate on the final day with the spectacular and thrilling lighting of the 69th “Spiedo Gigante,” which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.
