Curated by Federico Giudiceandrea, one of the leading collectors and world experts on Escher, the exhibition guides the visitor into the imaginative and surprising universe of this extraordinary Dutch artist.
Born in 1898 in the Netherlands, M.C. Escher masterfully blended art and mathematics into an unmistakable visual language, capable of challenging perception and captivating entire generations. Famous for his impossible visions, visual paradoxes, and infinite geometries, Escher has become over time an icon not only for mathematicians and scholars but also for the general public, enchanted by the visual and conceptual power of his works.
His creations represent an extraordinary meeting point between scientific thought and artistic imagination, profoundly influencing fields such as design, graphics, cinema, advertising, fashion, and music.
The exhibition, under the patronage of the Embassy and Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, promoted by the Municipality of Padua, is produced and organized by Arthemisia in collaboration with the M.C. Escher Foundation, the M.C. Escher Heritage, and Maurits.
