For the first time in Bibione, the summer opens with the most famous women's cycling race
On June 1, 2026, the third stage of the Giro d'Italia Women will start from Bibione and arrive in Buja (UD) covering a distance of 154 km between Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. The cyclists will depart from Piazza Fontana, and after a parade through the city's streets, they will head towards Friuli for the actual race. And so Bibione inaugurates the summer in the name of sport!
The Women’s Giro is returning to Bibione for the second time, as it previously hosted the start and finish of a stage in 1998, won by Anna Millward.
The Giro d’Italia Women, formerly known as Giro Donne - now in its 36th edition - will take place from May 30 to June 7, 2026, spanning nine stages from Cesenatico (FC) to Saluzzo (CN); since 1988, it has progressively become the most important and longstanding international event in the women's cycling calendar.
