Pictures by the nanny-photographer.
Selfportraits
From 24 March to 11 June 2023, Palazzo Sarcinelli hosts the exhibition 'Vivian Maier. Shadows and mirrors".
Ninety-three self-shots tell the story of the nanny-photographer who relentlessly searched for herself. It is through the Rolleiflex camera and then with the Leica that the photographer ideally accompanies visitors through the streets of New York and Chicago, where the continuous play of shadows and reflections show the presence-absence of the artist who, with her self-portraits, tries to relate to the world around her. His life, in fact, has been dedicated to research and travel to get to know his own identity, not so much to bring his shots to life.
The exhibition can be visited from Thursday to Sunday and holidays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
